PERSPECTIVES
In this Documentary, distance is seen as a lack: of communication, of connection, of understanding. The fascination on new and less known cultures or lifestyles is ironically fragmented in this avalanche of headlines. Hence the stereotypes, the assumptions, the fear, the boundaries. The synchronization with the society shown subjectively by the Indonesian-Romanian-German co-production is intended to trigger reflections upon the changes the today generation faces and its physical movement. That brings more and more often the idea of displacement and a modern man acting like a nomad, not as a tourist. This Project also generates tangible output and activities, allowing individuals to take part in dialogues, exchange information between Asia and Europe would be an investment in the film as a summary. OBJECTIVES To be a part of modern society, we, as young generation filmmakers with different cultural backgrounds, would like to share our personal affection in adapting and digesting the human flow in multi spaces such as cultural spaces, intellectual spaces and emotional spaces. Nonetheless, the aim is to try to translate it in a form of visual media. The primary aim of this project is to investigate the spaces that bridge the displacement between an individual who has migrated/moved to Hamburg through the creation of a self-generating in public spaces. Furthermore, we are pointing out the fact that a lifestyle clash between generations can be reduced to a matter of movement, while exploiting the physical room in our upbringing. This will develop a new study process not only on how a filmmaker observes the environment, but also how he investigates and understands the ways in which the individual strangers are changing the urban landscape of Hamburg. We have acknowledged that the concepts of home and acceptance were in a constant emotional flux, this being the main reason why the images in this project connect personally the filmmaker through the synchronization of a voice over. In the end, this project becomes a platform to discuss topics of common interest in the keywords of displacement, migration, identity, integration, etc. So it would be a benefit for the filmmakers as well as for the general public. SYNC is a reflection on the cultural diversity of Asia and Europe and aims to expose different ideas and best practices from the two regions. |
